In the news during the week, a female senator in one country attended a virtual (zoom) meeting topless at the start of the meeting before being called to order by her fellow senators who could not behold the scene twice. She had to later apologize and attributed this to her poor knowledge of the application usage, because she was dressing in front of the camera as the meeting proceeded.

1. Make sure you are fully set before linking up with the online meeting
2. Be properly dressed if you will want to attend online meeting, even if it's not official
3. Don't be in a hurry to click "join meeting with video and audio". Ensure your physical appearance is acceptable before doing that.
4. Should you join with audio, try to mute yourself, otherwise if there are discussions from your end that are not fit for the meeting consumption, it may not be so palatable.
5. If you need to excuse yourself from your seat while the meeting lasts, or you have other things to attend to while still attending the meeting, kindly stop your video. This does not exit you from the meeting.
6. If you are attending a scheduled virtual meeting of an organization for the first time (in case it's official), don't hide your video at first if the attendees videos are not disabled by the host. You may later switch once you are facially recognized with the signed device and registered attendee name should you want to save data.
7. In case you are not well grinded in the use of the meeting app, you may get an expert to stay around you to be called upon when his/her attention is needed to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.
8. Try as much as possible to avoid noisy place or places where your background will be showing moving images. Better still, use a virtual background to avoid unnecessary images.
