ACE Rotary Celebrates President End of Tenure with Inter-school Competition

The Rotary club of Ondo Adeyemi College has celebrated the end of the tenure of its President, Rot. Dr. Kehinde Adenegan in a grand style with an Interschool competition titled ADEMMAK ARITHMETIC GAME COMPETITION. The game was invented by the President himself and he has decided with his club and in conjunction with Pacesetters Empowerment Initiative to use the medium to give back to the educational system to mark his 40th birthday.




Fifty secondary schools within the state were given the opportunity to register and compete in the competition and this was keenly competed for by the schools in attendance. Some of the schools include. Owo High school Owo, Bagbe High School, Success International Ondo,  Progress College,  St. Joseph College Ondo,  St. James Secondary school,  St. Ambrose Catholic Grammar School, Lasal College,  Independence Grammar School,ife Veneration School, Diocesan Comprehensive College Ondo among others.


In what seems to be fun, the game was competed in spirit of sportsmanship and in a serene environment of the School of Science Complex board room in the College. St. Ambrose catholic grammar school lifted the 1st position trophy, while Independence Grammar school and St. Louis Girls Grammar school respectively lifted the 2nd and 3rd trophies with consolation prizes given to contestants from 1st to 10th position with others too having one gift or the other as take away for their various schools.



The Rotary year counts from July 1 to June 30 in which another President elect is to take over the position of leadership as from July 1. The event was well attended by the Dean, school of science, Dr. Peter Oyesoji Akinbile who played host to the game; President elect,  Rot. Oluseto Olatuyi,  President Nominee,  Rot. Dr. Abiodun Olarewaju,  Seargent at alms, Rot. Elizabeth Okoroafor, the club treasurer, Rot. Dr. Mopelola Akintoye, Past President RC Ondo, Rot. Olusiji Adeoye and the wife of the Prsident, Josephine Omoyemi Adenegan.

What will happen to Education after COVID-19 – Don reveals

A University Don, Prof. Miriam Amit from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel has revealed what will happen to education after the COVID-19 pandemic. She made her assertion at a virtual world sustainability conference   (WSC) organized by the Green Institute, held on Zoom on November 13, 2020.                                   Miriam Amit, a world renowned Professor of ethno-mathematics education, who was the keynote address presenter at the conference with the theme “Repositioning and Transitioning Global Educational Experience beyond COVID-19” asserted that COVID-19 has re-designed the shape of global education and will obviously make all teachers and relevant stake holders to follow the new course. She admitted that the classroom has no choice than to embrace ICT in advancing the course of education if education will thrive well.
