Lecturer rewards Mathematics students' hardwork, presents trophy and cash awards


A lecturer at the Adeyemi College of Education has just rewarded the
hardwork of a student in the Department of Mathematics with a trophy and
cash award at his second edition of "Catch Them Young" Trophy and Cash
Award presentation.
 This award was presented by Dr. Kehinde Emmanuel Adenegan, a senior
lecturer in the same Department at a mini ceremony held at the Library
complex of the Department of Mathematics, Adeyemi College of Education Ondo
for the best degree student with highest CGPA in Mathematics 100 level.
This 2018 year's award was received by Mohammed Rasheed Ojo, who claimed he was
highly motivated to win the award despite he resumed late to join his mates
due to delay in his admission process.
While presenting the trophy and cash award of N10000 to the recipient,
Adenegan, who is the present President of the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi
and as well as the Acting Director of the institution's management
information system (MIS), remarked that he is more interested in promoting
the teaching and learning of Mathematics and to encourage students to study
hard to achieve excellence. Meanwhile, the maiden edition has been won in the year 2017 by Farimoyo Kehinde who had a CGPA of 4.64.

 Earlier in his speech, the Dean, School of Science, Dr. Peter Oyesoji
Akinbile, lauded the step of Dr. Adenegan who is also an alumnus of the
institution and a First class honours degree holder in Mathematics. He
enjoined others to emulate his good gesture noting that Adenegan has not
demonstrated that he is rich but his act of giving and promoting academic
excellence.

 The Head of the Department of Mathematics, department, Dr. Matthew 'Femi
Lawal who could not hide his feelings expressed his appreciation to Dr.
Adenegan and encouraged the students to continue to work hard as sure
rewards of academic excellence await them. Also present at the occasion
were some members of staff of the Department and of MIS with students from
the Department who have come to cheer the award recipient.
